The cell culture center(CCC) is co-sponsored by the Ministry of Sciences and Technology, The ministry of Public Health, The Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, The Institute of Basic Medical Sciences. CCC is founded as a cell resource center to serve the research community around the country. CCC is positioned as a general center of expertise in all aspects of cell culture, able to offer a comprehensive range services to those in the life science.
The major duties of CCC include building up an inventory of cells, collecting information of those cells, inspecting quality control of cells and media, providing cell and related support for the research community and providing cell culture related technical support and training.
CCC now has 350M2 lab space including 150M2 cGMP rooms. CCC is well equipped with all that is needed for cell culturing, amplification, preservation, media production and quality control including 7 inverted phase contrast microscopes, five CO2 incubators, large scale cryo-preservation liquid nitrogen tanks, cell viability analysis, osmo-meter, PCR amplifier, MilliQ for ultra-pure water and so on.
CCC is still building up its inventory. Currently around 300 cell lines are available for distribution. Each cell line comes from a reliable source with a clear history. Every one of them is tested for mycoplasma contamination and is negative.
CCC maintains records on many cell parameters including cell type, culture condition, cell history, and so on. Researchers are welcome to contact with us for reference.
CCC also provides training courses that comprise comprehensive instruction in all the fundamental skills of cell culture, together with lectures and workshops on more specialized areas of current significance from guest experts in these areas.
