Research Center on Pediatric Development and Diseases of Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences(Children Center) was set up by Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences (CAMS) & Peking Union Medical College (PUMC) in 2015. The center is organized by IBMS/CAMS, combining with Capital Institute of Pediatrics, Peking Union Medical College Hospital, and Institute of Pathogen Biology, CAMS. The goal of our Center is to promote the development of multiple disciplines integrated with basic medical research and clinical applications comprehensively, and to establish a distinctive and internationally competitive team. Our members have professional knowledge and come from related backgrounds. Through effective cooperation, the team will fully implement the guideline and policy of CAMS for the integration of multi-disciplines of Basic Science Clinic-Translation-Precision and collaborative innovation of Industry-Education-Research.

The Children Center is focusing on children development, healthcare and children diseases by combining basic medical research, clinic and population intervention. By applying multiple approaches including genetics, immunology and metabolomics, the team is going to study the mechanisms of a variety of children diseases, including children nutrition imbalance, genetic diseases, cancer, infection, endocrine system diseases and spontaneous confirmatory diseases. The aim of these investigations is to provide comprehensive knowledge and service testing system for children development, disease prevention and diagnosis. The Children Center will also serve the society through peer-reviewed publications, patent output, technological translation and clinical applications.
