The Core Laboratories Center of IBMS provides an array of advanced life sciences instrumentation as well as expertise in their applications to facilitate research in basic and translational medicine. It currently consists of core facilities of Genomics, Proteomics, Cell Imaging and Flow Cytometry, Electron Microscopy as well as a Facility for Research Isotopes. Its resources are available on a fee-for-service basis to research community throughout IBMS, investigators in other academic institutions and commercial enterprises.

We represent a major commitment by Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences that maintains state-of-the-art technology to support biomedical research. Our major funding is provided by Research Infrastructure grants from Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Public Health and Ministry of Education. Operation and maintenance of facilities are supported by institutional funding and service fees.

Our purpose is to promote biomedical research with advanced technologies in a shared environment. The availability of high-end instruments and services helps to ensure open and effective access to crucial research resources, and allow IBMS to be in the forefront of biomedical research as well. The resources are used to support research and training, stimulating use of emerging technologies by scientists, and facilitating development of new methods and applications. By bringing high-quality research services, technology R&D, and technology-related education and trainings, we strive to advance our knowledge and find a better way to understand human disease and medicine.
