Technology field and major achievements:
Research Direction: Molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying neural development and neural diseases. Yang received his Bachelor's degree in Shandong University from 2001 to 2005. He obtained his Ph.D. from the Sichuan University in 2014 under the guidance of Dr. Qing Richard Lu. His thesis focused on genetic, molecular and bioinformatic analysis of the development of oligodendrocytes, the myelianting cells in the central nervous system. From 2014 to 2019, he pursued postdoctoral researchin Eric Lai Lab at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where he studied the transcriptional and posttranscriptional mechanisms of neural development. Yang joined IBMS in 2019. Yu lab now works on the molecular and cellular basis of neural development and neural diseases.
