Personal Profile

Lin Jun, Assistant Professor/Researcher and Ph.D. advisor. He is the principal investigator of the Research Group on Molecular Mechanisms of Metabolic Diseases and a member of the Gut Microbiota Branch of the Chinese Society for Biophysics.

Technology field and major achievements

Long-term focus on the role of endogenous substances in the pathogenesis and progression of metabolic diseases, as well as the identification of their host targets: Elucidated the role of bacteriogenic new bile acids in improving metabolic diseases, identified a novel receptor for these compounds, and uncovered the molecular mechanisms underlying their improvement of glucose tolerance; identified the key receptor through which ceramides inhibit fat browning and thermogenesis. As the first (including co-) author, I have published 12 SCI papers in internationally renowned journals such as Cell, Science, Cell Metab., Adv. Sci., and PNAS. This research was recognized as one of the Top Ten Advances in Chinese Life Sciences for 2025.
