佟伟民教授的主要研究方向是上皮与神经元恶性转化的分子机制。利用临床样本及遗传工程修饰的小鼠,在整体、细胞和分子水平探讨DNA损伤、RNA修饰蛋白在上皮及神经源性肿瘤发生中的作用机制,为发现新的疾病干预及治疗方法提供理论基础。先后建立小鼠肝癌、乳腺癌、胰腺内分泌肿瘤,及小头畸形、神经变性病、神经源性肿瘤等小鼠模型。近年来,结合临床样本,在胰腺癌、乳腺癌、髓母细胞瘤、脑肌病,炎性脑病等肿瘤及神经变性病的研究中取得多项进展,发现多个潜在的治疗及诊断靶点,在 Brain Pathology, Cell Discovery,Cell Report,Cell Research,Genome Biology,Nature Cell Biology,Nature Medicine, Oncogene,DNA Repair,Cancer Research,American Journal of Pathology 等杂志共发表 SCI 论文 80 余篇。先后获人事部、教育部、科技部及国家自然科学基金等多项资助。
