本课题组同时也是美国中华医学基金会（CMB）中国疾病负担研究与推广中心，约翰·霍普金斯大学（The Johns Hopkins University）全球控烟研究所中国协作中心和基础所慢性病与行为危险因素研究中心。自2003年成立以来，先后获得美国国立卫生研究院（NIH）4项项目支持（中国烟草控制的流行病学和干预，我国农村进城打工女性的吸烟易感性调查，烟草控制流行病学、监测和干预能力建设，中国青年女性吸烟行为现况调查），CMB两轮基金支持（中国疾病负担方法学研究与推广——中国卫生服务体系学习和应用疾病负担能力建设），同时，获得我国科技部、卫生部等资金支持。课题组当前主要研究方向为1）疾病模式和疾病负担；2）环境污染和环境改善与人群健康的相关性；3）慢性病发生发展相关不健康行为，及慢性病防控相关政策效果评价；4）以上研究内容的成果转化，以促进慢性病预防控制。其中重点内容为：1）疾病负担方法学；2）空气污染和水污染的健康风险和归因疾病负担；3）烟草流行趋势与防控政策效果评价。
